PORT CLINTON: Crescencio Armendariz, 91, of Port Clinton, Ohio died peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Countryside Continuing Care Center in Fremont, Ohio.
He was born on May 5, 1922 in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of the late Jose and Perfecta (Silva) Armendariz.
He married Trinidad Talamantes on October 15, 1945 and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2001.
Mr. Armendariz worked as a quality control inspector for the former GNC Foundry in Sandusky until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. During his younger years, he had horses and enjoyed riding them. Later on, he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Wes Armendariz, Port Clinton, Raul (Gloria) Armendariz, Byhalia, Mississippi, Armando (Josie) Armendariz, Port Clinton, Yolanda (Salomon) Arellano, Genoa, Ohio, Miguel (Laura) Armendariz, Port Clinton; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carmen Ramirez; daughter-in-law, Retha Armendariz; eight brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton.
On Friday, July 12, 2013, prayers will begin at the funeral home at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Father John C. Missler officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospice in Fremont, Ohio.
