Dale W. Reitz

SANDUSKY: Dale W. Reitz, 85, residing in Sandusky passed away Saturday afternoon at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Dale was born in Port Clinton on January 3, 1928 to the late Rolland and Rosella (Hillman) Reitz.

He was a graduate of Port Clinton High School and was also a Veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a purchasing agent for US Gypsum until his retirement. Dale was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Ohio, and was also a member of the Oak Harbor Conservation Club. Dale's hobbies included photography and music. He was a drummer for several bands, including Ang Damanti, Frank Fosco, and Gary Spade, until he retired in 2009.

Dale is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda (Peltier), whom he married on July 11, 1970; his two sons, Dennis (Wanda) Reitz, Clark Reitz; grandchildren, Ryan Reitz, Dennis Reitz, April Harris, Christopher Reitz; sister, Eunice Bohlander; brother-in-laws, Jim Peltier, John (Joyce) Peltier.

Including his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his son, Douglas; his brother Harold and sister-in-law Edna Reitz; and his brother-in-law, Paul Bohlander.

Friends will be received on Saturday, January 19 from 10 am until the time of funeral services at 11 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest Street, Bellevue, Ohio. Pastor Phil Gardner will be officiating the service.
