Gary R. Howell
FREMONT: Gary R. Howell, 72, of Fremont, OH passed away at home on Monday, July 02, 2012. He was born on March 28, 1940 in Port Clinton, OH to Herman and Florence (Truex) Howell.
He was a 1958 graduate of Port Clinton High School. Gary served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1963 to 1965 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Badge. Gary married Christine E. (Bing) Good on July 21, 1989 in Fremont and she survives.
He worked as a Fabrication Welder at Chemitrol and retired in 1999 after many years of service. Gary was a Life Member of the Fremont VFW.
Gary is survived by his wife, Christine E. Howell, Fremont, OH; step children, Robert Good, Sandusky, OH and William (Leah) Good III, Fremont, OH; siblings, Barbara Lovern and Richard Howell both of Port Clinton, OH, Jerry Howell, Gypsum, OH; three grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gilbert Howell.
Visitation: Thursday from 2 to 4 pm. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH. Service: Friday, July 6, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Wolfe officiating. Burial: Will take place at a later date
