PORT CLINTON: Guadalupe M. Alvarado, 92, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Monday, April 30, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on May 24, 1919 in San Carlos Tampalimpas, Mexico, the daughter of Alfredo and Julia (Guardo) Montano. On February 16, 1947 she married Claudio Alvarado and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1986. During her early working years, she was a migrant worker traveling to different states to help in the fields. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. She loved to cook and listen to Mexican music. Most importantly, she enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her daughter: Olga (Donald) Warga, Port Clinton; sons: Joseph (Olga Juanita) Alvarado, Canton, Michigan; Henry (Lupe) Alvarado, Sheffield Village, Ohio; Octavio Alvarado, Port Clinton; Leo (Gloria) Alvarado, Port Clinton; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother: Isabel Montano, Weslaco, Texas; daughter-in-law: Diana Alvarado, Port Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Mario Alvarado; infant daughter and twin to Leo: Linda; sisters: Julia Alba and Luisa Espinosa; and brothers: Santana, Refugio, and Danielle Montano.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. Family prayers will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
