James A. Silverwood

MARBLEHEAD: James A. Silverwood, Sr. 76, of Marblehead, Ohio died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on October 23, 1935 in Port Clinton, Ohio, the son of the late Blanchard and Bessie (Applegate) Silverwood.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country during the Korean War. He married Carolyn (Warren) on August 12, 1961 and she survives.

James worked as a skilled tradesman as a welder repairman at the Ford Motor Company- Maumee Stamping Plant until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union #1832, Maumee, and was a member of the Oliver H. Perry Masonic Lodge #341, Port Clinton.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; sons, James A. Silverwood, Jr., Port Clinton, OH, Jeffery W. Silverwood, Vero Beach, FL, Jerry D. Silverwood, Newark, OH; daughters, Moneak A. Kopp, Fostoria, OH, Georganna M. (Dan) Blevins, Hilliard, OH, Terri M. Silverwood, Port Clinton, Josie (Dave) Matthews, Port Clinton, OH; 16 grandchildren;eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers and 1 sister.

There will be no visitation or services as cremation has taken place.
