Kathryn I. Lorensen
PORT CLINTON: Kathryn I. Lorensen, 80, of Port Clinton, OH passed away, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at her residence. She was born on May 03, 1932 in Gypsum, OH to Louis and Agnes (Novoselec) Kocsis.
On December 11, 1953 in Port Clinton, OH she married Robert E. Lorensen, and he survives. Kathryn worked as a dedicated teacher for the Port Clinton school system for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, and was a Sunday school teacher for 17 years. She also wrote a children's book. Kathryn loved reading, her flowers and crafting. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband of 59 years, Robert, Kathryn is survived by her sons, Bob (Kris) Lorensen of Port Clinton, Robin Lorensen of Port Clinton and Randi Lorensen of Oak Harbor; Son-in-Law, Keith Kretz of San Diego, CA; three Grandchildren, Marc, Jessica & Rachel and sister, Carol Dixon.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Patti Kretz.
A memorial service will be conducted by Reverend Karl Kessler at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 23, 2012 in St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH, the family has asked that it be casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in memory of Kathryn be made to Stein Hospice. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
