Marjorie May Taylor Obituary
Marjorie May Taylor

MILLBURY: Marjorie May Taylor of Millbury, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Curtice home of her son, Richard, the very house in which she was born eighty-eight years ago, on the family's century farm, purchased in 1871.

Marge was born August 12, 1924, to Charles and Katherine (Mock) Taylor. Her elementary school years were spent in the one room Grant School, which provided a lifetime of fond memories. After being graduated from Genoa High School in 1942, she worked at the Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton, preparing guns for shipment in World War II.

On November 16, 1944, she married Herman "Ham" Taylor. Their marriage was a true partnership, with Marge working beside him on the farm until their retirement in 1981. Together they enjoyed many years of camping with the Lake Township Goers and western square dancing with the Buckeye Squares. In the 1980s, Marge volunteered in the activities room at the Lutheran Home on Wheeling Street. After Herman's death in 1995, she enjoyed fifteen years of activities at the Genoa Senior Center. Marge's current memberships include the Ottawa County Historical Society and the Genoa Grange to which she has belonged for fifty-nine years.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, husband; in-laws, Oscar and Helen (Brockmann) Taylor; infant grandson, David Alan Taylor; brother-in-law, William Taylor and his wives, Laura and Lillian; niece, Jo Ann Taylor; and long time companion, Russell Burkett.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Richard and Susan (Gaertner) Taylor; grandsons, Eric and Kevin; brother, James (Alberna) Taylor; nephew, John (June) Taylor, nieces, Jean (Leonard) Smalley and Sharon (Steve) Tobasko; great nieces and nephews and their children survive as well.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013. Burial will take place in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury.

For those considering memorial contributions, the family suggests the Genoa Grange Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.

Her family wishes to thank the people of Hospice for the wonderful care she received at the inpatient facility and at home. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
