Mary Judith Jensen
CEDAR FALLS,IA: Mary Judith Jensen, 85, of Cedar Falls, IA, formerly of Port Clinton, OH, Fayetteville, PA, and Davenport, IA, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.
She was born December 27, 1926, in Bessemer, AL, daughter of Edmund and Mary Palmer Sherrod. She married Robert Jensen September 23, 1946, in Memphis, TN. He died April 30, 1998.
In 1948, she and her husband moved to Port Clinton, OH, after his Navy commission in Florida. When the Erie Army Depot closed in 1966, they relocated to Fayetteville, PA. In 1970, they moved to Davenport, IA and her husband worked at the Rock Island Arsenal. She then moved to Cedar Falls in 2000, where she was currently a resident of NewAldaya Lifescapes. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls.
Survived by: four daughters, Barbara (Doug) Reasner of Durant, IA, Jude Jensen of Iowa City, IA, Pat (Jeff) Jensen-Bock of Des Moines, IA, and Marty (Christopher) Jensen Kilbourn of Cedar Falls; one son, Mike (Lisa) Jensen of Champaign, IL; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: one daughter, Catherine Ann Henry.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at NewAldaya Lifescapes Chapel in Cedar Falls with burial in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls and for one hour prior to services Saturday at the chapel.
