PORT CLINTON: Wilfred G. "Bill" Smart, Jr., 76, of Port Clinton, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, OH. He was born December 24, 1935 in Cleveland, the son of Wilfred G. and Lillian (DeWorth) Smart, Sr.
He married Nora Arnett on December 27, 1975 and she preceded him in death on September 12, 2006. Mr. Smart retired from General Motors and he was the owner/operator of Lakeland Camp Ground in Port Clinton. He was a long time member of the Portage Township Board of Zoning Appeals.
Surviving are his companion, Olive Chidester; sons, Terry Conaway of Port Clinton, Shannon Smart of Oklahoma; daughters: Carol Owen of Richwood, OH, Jody (Gary) Ritter of Huron, OH, Cheri (Rick) Taylor of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Russell (Barb) Smart of Mansfield; sisters, Diane (Tom) Skierski of Cleveland and Jeanne Siska of Cleveland.
There will be no services.
