CINCINNATI: Martha (Marti) M. Gibson, a long and involved resident of Cincinnati, Ohio died peacefully April 15, 2014 at Providence Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio.

Born July 12, 1916 in Woodsfield, OH to Joe T. and Elsie Floyd Gibson, she would have been 98 years old in July.

Marti was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, H. Floyd (Alice), Earl (Evelyn).

Martha worked with Mr. Ralph Lazarus in the executive offices of Federated Department Stores for nearly 40 years. Her loyalty and love of retailing was always demonstrated by her amazing flair for fashion and was a member of Cincinnati's Fashion Group International. In addition to being a 75 year member of Eastern Star, Marti was an avid cheerleader for Cincinnati, and as such, was active in supporting numerous organizations including: Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, The Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Art Museum, The Town Club, The Playhouse in the Park, John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, Cincinnati Chapter of Freedoms Foundation, and The World Piano Competition.

Martha is survived by her nephew, Greg Gibson (Sue), Port Clinton, OH; great nephews, Eric Gibson (Diane), Westerville, OH, Jim Gibson (Rene), Woodstock, GA, Dave Gibson (Janet), Evergreen, CO; and numerous great nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date with burial in the Quaker City, OH Friends Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Martha may be made to the Covington Suspension Bridge Committee, P.O. Box 1777, Covington, KY 41017 or
