OAK HARBOR: Richard Stone, 74, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away May 5, 2014 after a brief stay at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He had been battling a lengthy illness for the last couple of years.

He was born in Oak Harbor, OH June 29, 1939 to the late Ernest "Ernie" and Ethel (Millinger) Stone. He married the former Janet Buehler on December 9, 1961.

Richard, alongside his father Ernie and brother Gary, was a longtime dairy farmer in Salem Township, Oak Harbor. After retiring; he, Janet, and sidekick Sadie, the dog, traveled to Texas in the winters to escape the chilly Ohio weather and enjoy the warmth and their new found friends. Richard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor and had served on many committees over the years. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Soil & Water Conservation District for 24 years. He also belonged to Farmer's Union, Farm Bureau, Clod Busters Farm Counsel, and Tofts Milk Producers Co-Op.

Whether you called him Richard, Rich, Pa, or Grandpa, you could always count on him to have a smile on his face and maybe a joke or two to share with you. Although he was "retired", he still enjoyed working and helping his family with any job that needed done. Family was everything to Richard and he got to share in so many exciting and fun filled family events in his lifetime. From the birth of all his grandchildren, attending his children and grandchildren's many sporting and school events, to family vacations to Cancun, Mexico and Charleston, South Carolina.
