JAMES MONTGOMERY, 81
James Fred Montgomery, age 81, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Concord Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born January 8, 1933 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to the late Doc Montgomery and Saltha Russell Montgomery.
He was an U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War and a former carman for the N&S Railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mae Shepherd Montgomery who he married March 31, 1956, in Adams County. Also surviving are four sons, James E. (Cheryl) Montgomery, Robert K. Montgomery, Larry W. Montgomery and Danny L. Montgomery, three daughters, Carol S. Laack, Frances (Tim) Hosey and Loretta F. Montgomery; four brothers, Charles Montgomery, LeRoy Montgomery, Eddie Montgomery and Wayne Montgomery; two sisters, Annaruth Dalton and Phyllis Green; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were three brother, Coy Montgomery, Troy Montgomery and Jessie Montgomery.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, March 24, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of HARRISON-PYLES FUNERAL HOME of Wheelersburg.
