WEST PORTSMOUTH - Henry F. Eichenlaub, age 75, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, died at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2013.
He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on August 2, 1938, to the late Charles and Stella Koenig Eichenlaub. He was married to Marcella June Bolton Eichenlaub for the past 50 happy years.
Surviving are seven children, Sandy (Gus) Cabrera, Phyllis (Mark) Thieken, Mary Eichenlaub, Carl (Katie) Eichenlaub, Michael (Amy) Eichenlaub, Mark Eichenlaub, and Joanna (John) Tackett; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Mary), Justin, Jessy, Heather, Holly, Shelby, Charlie, Charlotte, Austin, and his beloved dog Pixie; sisters, Mary (Dave) Montavon and Rose (Bill) Thompson; brothers, Robert (Carol) Eichenlaub and Larry (May) Eichenlaub; his close cousin, Bill (Joyce) Eichenlaub; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, James; and three unborn grandchildren.
Henry devoted his life to his family. He worked at OSCO Industries for 38 years, attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church in West Portsmouth, and was a graduate of Otway High School. His favorite pastimes were farming, sorghum making, and meat processing with his children and grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Otway with Father David Young, celebrant. Burial will follow in Koenig Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
