LUCASVILLE — Jamianne Grooms 59, of Lucasville, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.
She was born March 10, 1954 in Portsmouth, a daughter of James Spriggs of Lucasville and the late Marianne Harr Spriggs.
Jamianne was a former English teacher at Portsmouth City Schools and a member of Berean Baptist Church in Sciotoville. She was a 1972 Portsmouth East graduate and received a Bachelor of Science in education from The Ohio State University in 1977. She was huge OSU Buckeye, Portsmouth Trojan, and Valley Indian fan.
She is also survived by her husband, John Grooms whom she married March 13, 1992 in Lucasville; her son, J.T. Grooms at home; one sister, Jill (Craig) Staggs of Sciotoville; two nieces, Brooke and Megan; a favorite uncle, Uncle W; and a favorite cousin, Bobbie Jo.
She was also preceded in death by six infants.
Graveside services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 in Mound Cemetery in Piketon with Phil Ruark officiating. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
