Orville Galloway

ORVILLE E. GALLOWAY, 68

Orville Eugene Galloway, 68, of West Portsmouth, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at SOMC Hospice. He was born November 5, 1945, in West Portsmouth to the late Caney and Onida Adams Galloway. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad, was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Portsmouth and the Golden Bears. Along with his parents Orville was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl "Muggs" and Steve Galloway; and a sister, Mary Lockhart.

Orville is survived by his wife, Kathie Shepherd Galloway, who he married on August 18, 1976; a daughter, Deana Lynn (Ian) Egbert of Portsmouth; two sons, Robert Keith (Kara) Adkins of Huston, TX, and James Dean Adkins of West Portsmouth; three brothers, John Galloway of Norwalk, Clay Galloway of California and Dave Galloway of Florida; two sisters, Anna Owens of New Boston and Susie Galloway of Norwalk; six grandchildren, Kayla (Brent) Copley, Gabby Adkins, Cory Adkins, Matthew Adkins, Daniel Adkins and Hannah Adkins; and one great- grandson Noah Copley.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mike Davis Officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

The family would like to thank Dr. Umhoefer and everyone at SOMC Hospice for their wonderful care. They would also like to thank a special niece Kelly Wright and Pastor Mike Davis for being there for them. The family requests that donations be made to SOMC Hospice in Orville's name.
