Ruth Imogene Johnson, 85, formerly of Rubyville, Ohio, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Heartland Riverview in South Point.
She was born July 6, 1928, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Grant and Stella Belville Stewart.
Ruth was head clerk for the former Harts Department Store, active member of Rosie The Riveter, a member of the Lucasville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star 495, and a 1946 Huntington High School graduate. She was a member of the First Guyandotte Baptist Church in Huntington and attended Christ Brethren Church in Rubyville.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Johnson, March 17, 1994; and one brother, Lawrence Stewart.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Johnson of Barboursville, W.Va.; and one brother, Jack Stewart of Lesage, W.Va..
Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, in Oaklawn Cemetery in Huntington with Bob Davis officiating. Friends may call 5 to 7:15 p.m. Thursday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 by the Lucasville Chapter OES 495.
