DANIEL LLOYD WARNER
McDERMOTT — Daniel Lloyd Warner, 65 of McDermott, died Saturday August 23, 2014 at his home. He was born February 21, 1949 in Scioto County to the late Lloyd Frederick and Ann Newman Warner. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from Ohio University with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1972 and received his Master of Education Degree from Xavier University in 1976. Dan was an educator in the Washington Nile Local School District for 33 years. He was the Principal of Jenkins Elementary and Portsmouth West Elementary. He was also a member of the James Dickey Post #23 American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Dan is survived by his wife Bonnie Scott Warner who he married on December 31, 1986, 3 children Cindi and Justin McGovern of Anchorage, Alaska, Jason Cassidy of Cleveland and Wes and Lindsey Hussey Cassidy of West Portsmouth, 2 grandchildren; Colin Cassidy of Marysville and Ryan Cassidy of West Portsmouth, a sister Sue Ann and Max Behrer of Wheelersburg, his special 4 legged friends; Tess, Jack, Buddy, Beagle, Tracer, Dodger and Phantom, along with many friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday August 27, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with military rites by the James Dickey Post #23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 11 to 1 on Wednesday. The family's favorite charity's are SOMC Hospice and the Wounded Warrior Project.
