PIKETON – Delroy D. Clauson, 78, of Piketon, OH, died 6:48 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014, in Pike Community Hospital in Waverly following a brief illness.

He was born August 17, 1935, in Newell, SD, to Cliff and Esther Krein Clauson.

Surviving are his mother, Esther Redance of Kansas City, MO; children, Hilda Spence of Sciotoville, OH, Cindy Clauson of Rochester, NY, Randy Clauson of Pittsburg, PA, Natalie Meade of Salina, KS and Mike Clauson of Hutchinson, KS; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bettie Aldrich of Evanston, WY; two nephews; and five nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Cliff Clauson.

Delroy retired from the United States Army and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. Delroy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the V.F.W.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2014, in the WARE FUNERAL HOME in Chillicothe, Ohio, with Bishop Robert R. Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Ware's one hour prior to the service on Friday.
