JAMES "JIM" ALBERT MASON

James "Jim" Albert Mason, 79, of Wheelersburg, went to heaven on Monday, June 9, 2014, after a brief stay at OSU Medical Center in Columbus due to complications from cancer. He was born in Minford on March 29, 1935 to the late Clarence and Sarah (Pace) Mason. Jim was a retired Pipefitter with Local Union 577 and had previously worked at the Portsmouth Steel Mill. He was a member of the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 762.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis "Jane" Smith Mason, daughter Lori Lee Mason, great-granddaughter Nevaeh Mason, brothers, Clarence "Budd" Mason, Charles Russell Marion. Surviving him are two sons, James "Randy" Mason of Gahanna, Jeffrey Allen Mason of Sciotoville; two daughters, Sandra Kay Mason of Worthington, Amy Sue (Tom) Schouster of Sciotoville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Etta Lou (Howard) Salyer, Lois (Chuck) Malone, Carolyn (Ezra) Wright, Brenda Mason, Marcia (Don) Ingerslev; sister-in-law, Becky Mason.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Christ United Methodist Church at 5731 Gallia Street, Sciotoville with Rev. Paul Goshorn officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military rites provided by American Legion James Dickey Post #23.
