WHEELERSBURG – Riley Davis Jr., age 80, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born April 15, 1933, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, to the late Riley Davis and Josie Williamson Davis. He was an U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a retired conductor for the N&S Railroad.

He is survived by his wife, Edith M. McCoy Davis whom he married October 4, 1956, in Mingo County, WV. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Sammons and Odelene Smith. Preceding him in death besides his parents were three brothers, Sam, Clyde and Glenn; and four sisters, Dove, Louise, Leona and Sue.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Garden City Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Blaine Etterling officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park. Friends May call at the HARRISON-PYLES FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Military graveside services will be conducted by James Dickey Post American Legion.
