Doris Dingus, 87

Doris Ilene Dingus, 87, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 29, 2013, at SOMC Hospice.

She was born June 12, 1926, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Thomas Lawson and Myrtle Lawson Sparks. She was a homemaker and faithfully attended Rubyville Community Church.

She was married February 22, 1944, in Greenup, to Paul Seth Dingus, who preceded her in death July 3, 1995.

She is survived by five sons, Ralph (Jodi) Dingus of Wheelersburg, Merritt Dingus of Wheelersburg, Dan (Sue) Dingus of Sciotoville, Ken (Barbie) Dingus of Wheelersburg, and Brian Dingus of Franklin Furnace; three daughters, Retta Ashley (Dave) of Wheelersburg, Elaine Smith (Mike) of Minford, and Anna Davis (Larry) of Minford; four brothers, Don, Gerald, Larry and Jerry Lawson; two sisters, Wanda Roe and Glenna Connor; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Lloyd Dingus; one daughter-in-law, Sue Dingus; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Dingus; and two brothers, Bob and Harold Lawson.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Rubyville Community Church, with Calvin Ray Evans officiating, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

The family would like to thank SOMC Hospice for their excellent care given to our mother.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Rubyville Community Church or SOMC Hospice.
