LEXINGTON, Ky. — Evelyn Pauline (Shuter) Kinker, 94, of Lexington, Ky., a former Scioto County resident, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born Nov. 16, 1919 in Minford, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Shirley A. (Erwin) Shuter, she was a 1937 graduate of Minford High School where she was class salutatorian. She had attended Berean Baptist Church and was a teacher's assistant for Portsmouth Public School System.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in -law, Kay Lee and Robert Thornsberry of Lexington, Kentucky; granddaughters, Kim (Ron) Coey and Miranda (Lachlan) Church; grandsons, Tim (Amy) Kinker and John Thornsberry; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Kinker on May 31, 1959, whom she married on November 16, 1942 in Newport, Ky.; a son, Richard Allen Kinker, and three brothers, Glen Shuter, Paul Shuter and Carl Shuter.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Sam Peters officiating. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery in Minford.
