Herbert Eugene Parker, 73

Herbert Eugene "Buck" Parker, 73 of Stout, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at his home.

He was born January 24, 1940, in Scioto County to the late John and Peachie Cooper Parker. He was a retired union laborer of almost 40 years and a member of Laborers Local # 83. Buck was a member of the Coon Hunters Club and Sandy Springs Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Dolly Cook; and three very special lifelong friends, Don Sparks, Billy Holsinger and Jim Bayless.

Buck is survived by his wife of 33 years, Brenda Blevins Parker, who he married November 9, 1980; a daughter, Erica Cooper of Manchester, a son, Wayne (Glenda) Parker of Stout; a sister, Virginia "Sissy" (Aubrey) Parker of Blue Creek; four grandchildren, Jace and Ashton Cooper and Keely and Chris Parker; special mother-in-law, Clara Blevins; and a very special friend that was like a brother to him, Eddie Boland; along with many nieces nephews and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with David Blevins officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
