PORTSMOUTH - Miriam "Babs" Mullins, age 91, of Portsmouth, passed away at Hill View Retirement Center on Thursday, November 28, 2013. She was born on April 8, 1922, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to William and Miriam (Zuefle) Hoffman. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and attended the First Presbyterian Church and McDermott Methodist Church. She moved to Melbourne, FL, in 1955, where she lived until 2007. She was very active in her Garden Club as well as with her family. Miriam loved to write short stories and poems, sew for her grandchildren, and travel to places that she had never been. She had a personality that could be described as "bubbly".
Miriam is survived by one daughter, Teresa (Benjamin) Yergey of Port St. Lucie, FL; three grandchildren, Shawn, Heather, and Dawn; three great-grandchildren, LeAnna, Annie, and Zachary; one sister, Gertrude O'Brien; several nieces, nephews, and cousins especially Harriett Cassity and Donald Wolfe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Forrest Riley, and her second husband, Eddie Mullins; four sisters, June, Joyce, Gloria, and Sylvia; one brother, William, (Bill).
