FORREST COPAS

STOUT – Forrest Wheeler Copas, 88, of Stout in Nile Township in Scioto County, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at home. He was born March 24,1925, in Jefferson Township in Adams County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman Edward and Loretta May (Easter) Copas, and wife, Zelma Iona (McGovney) Copas.

He is survived by his son, Steven Elwood Copas of Stout; four sisters, Thelma Frazier and Patricia Dolan, both of West Union, Rosie Wells of New York, New York, and Faye Grooms of Bradenton, Florida.

He retired from Detroit Steel Corporation in New Boston where he was a crane operator for 24 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a graduate of the former Jefferson High School in Blue Creek.

A private funeral service was held Friday, March 14, 2014, at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union.

The interment was at Copas Cemetery.
