Edward Lee O'Dell, 79, of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, on Turkey Creek. He was born September 8, 1934, on Turkey Creek to the late Luther B. and Ferrell Beekman O'Dell. He was retired after 41 years at Detroit Steel. He was a member of the Rome Masonic Lodge and the Friendship United Methodist Church. Lee was a devoted husband and father. He loved his home and family more than anything. His family: wife, children, grandkids, great-grandkids, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, all were his pride and joy. Along with his parents Edward was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Marie Nickel and Miriam Louise Webb.

Lee is survived by his wife, Theresa "Pat" Osborne O'Dell, who he married on September 14, 1956; a daughter, Brenda Joiner of Longview, TX; two sons, Randall B. O'Dell of West Portsmouth and Ryan E. O'Dell of Columbus; two granddaughters, Stephanie Joiner and Kaitlyn Black; three great-grandsons, Corey, Brently and Hunter; five brothers, Lynn, Eugene, Harold, Paul and Ronald O'Dell; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Reverend Gary L. Hopkins officiating, and interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Monday starting at noon. There will be Masonic services Saturday evening starting at 7 p.m.
