PEEBLES-Eva I. Hoffer, 77, of Rarden Hazelbaker Road, Peebles, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born January 4, 1937 in West Union, Ohio, daughter of the late Louella Damron Hoffer and Henry Hoffer. On May 23, 1937 Eva was united in marriage to Orval A. Hoffer who survives. Also surviving is three daughters, Nancy Shoemaker and husband Danny of Locust Grove, Ohio, Mary L. Hughes and husband Samuel of Otway, Ohio, Berneda Monroe of Rarden, Ohio; two sons, Nelson and Dwayne Hoffer at home; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a brother, Kelsie Hoffer and wife Charlotte of Leesburg, Ohio. In addition to her parents, one grandson, Aaron Monroe, a great granddaughter, Cassidy Beers and son-in-law, James Monroe preceded Eva in death.
Eva was a member of New Life Church on Hoffer Hill and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 17, 2014 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Monty White and John Spires officiating. Burial will follow in Hoffer Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday.
