Sharon Kay Spears, 71, of McDermott, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born July 23, 1942 in Marshall, Highland Co., Ohio a daughter of the late John Paul and Gladys Lucille McFarland Johnson.
Sharon was a retired foreman for Goodyear Atomic Corp., a member of the McDermott United Methodist Church, and a 1960 Northwest High School graduate. She was also a past member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Daughters of America.
She is survived by one son, David Lee Spears of McDermott; one daughter, Paula Kay Spears of McDermott; two granddaughters, Caitlin and Sarah Spears; three brothers, Kenneth (Bev) Johnson of Jackson, Leonard (Hope) Johnson, Gene (Janie) Johnson both of McDermott; and one sister, Frances Dettwiller of Washington Court House.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Paul Wayne Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the McDermott United Methodist Church in McDermott with Frances Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour before the funeral Wednesday at the church.
