After a courageous battle, Richard (Dick) Paul Jones I went to be with the Lord. He was born October 11, 1931 to the late Charles and Gertrude Clark Jones. He was the youngest of his siblings, the late John (Jack), Charles (Bob),Daniel Jones and Mary Cassidy.

Dick attended St Mary High School,Class of 1950, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War, he retired from Cyclops Empire Detroit Steel with 37 1/2 years of service, a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and of James DickeyPost 23 American Legion.

He is survived by his children Richard Paul (Lisa) Jones II of Carmel,Indiana; Kristi (Tom) Toppins whom he resided with of Portsmouth; Kreg (Lisa) Jones of Pensacola,Florida, Jay (Linda) Jones of Portsmouth; Matthew Jones of Lebanon; Vicki (Herman) Patrick of Portsmouth; his grandchildren Richard Paul Jones III, Carson Jones, Garrett Jones, Jarrod Toppins, Megan Toppins, Michael Jones, Katheryn Jones, Joseph (Brynn) Jones, Eun Hae (Nick) Salanoa, Jayson Jones, Jee Hae Jones, Andrew Jones, Ethan Jones, John Jones, Michael (Jennifer) Wamsley, David Mays, Jessie Mays, Matthew Jones, Shayla Jones, Tyler Jones, Christopher Patrick, Kaitlyn Patrick, Claire Patrick, and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Melcher Funeral Home, Friday June 13, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Recitation of The Rosary will be Friday 8:00P.M. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday June 14, 2014 10:00A.M. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. David Young officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
