RAYMOND JESSE WHEELER

Raymond Jesse Wheeler, Sr., 85, of Otway, a former Minford resident, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at SOMC Hospice. Born July 8, 1928 in Scioto County, a son of the late Dan and Madge Ross Wheeler and step-mother, Bertha Thompson Wheeler, he was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his children, Karen (Ed) Smalley of Lucasville, Brenda Harris of Otway, Raymond, Jr. (Sue) Wheeler of Minford, Tim (Melissa) Wheeler of Minford, Larry (Danyelle) Wheeler of Minford, Danny (Tammy) Wheeler of South Bloomfield, Paul (Debbie) Wheeler of Peebles, Paulette Phillips of Wheelersburg, Robert (Suzanne) Wheeler of Peebles, Richard Wheeler of West Union, and Randal (Shona) Wheeler of Minford; 30 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Clarence Wheeler of Minford and Nate Wheeler of Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgel Wheeler, Norman Wheeler, Eljay Wheeler and Marvin Wheeler; three sisters, Louise Holbrook, Emma Jean Triggs, and Lorraine Justice, and two step-brothers, Kermit Phillips and Rodney Phillips.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Charles Wiltshire officiating. Burial will be at Mault-Wheeler Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
