I knew Labrone when I was a new organizer to 1199 in Ohio. Labrone was brought in to a couple of staff meetings to tell us what it really meant to work for 1199. He was an inspiration to me -- and to others. I have never forgotten him, the power of his words, and the depth of his commitment to justice for workers -- especially health care workers. I carry that commitment with me as I continue his work.

My condolences to the Epps family. My prayers are with you at this heartbreaking time. My dad, my husband and I worked with Epps at ISM for years. We were really close. He was like a second dad to me. I could talk to him about anything. We kept in touch as much as life would allow. We are deeply saddened about his passing. We love you Epps. We'll see you on the night shift Pop!
