Drake, Raymond J. (August 28, 1950 - November 8, 2013) 63, passed away on November 8, 2013. He was born and raised in Gary, Indiana to Lucius and Victoria Drake. After graduation from Tolleston High School in 1968, he served a tour of duty with the Army in Vietnam. He returned to Colorado Springs where he was a Military Police Officer at Fort Carson. There, Ray competed and instructed Tae Kwon Do for the military. Ray became a Denver Police Officer in 1974. Ray completed a BA in Human Resources from Colorado Christian University in 1991. Ray's passion was teaching Tae Kwon Do with Loveland Tae Kwon Do. He was a 5th degree black belt in multiple styles of the martial arts. Ray is survived by his mother, Victoria Drake; daughter, Angela Schall (Tyler) of Longmont; son, Steven Drake of Durango, Mexico; brother, Lucius Drake Jr. of Milliken, CO; sisters, Vanita Parker of Gary, IN, Lolita (Ron) Parram of Chicago, IL, Cathy (Phil) Patterson of Merrillville, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Memorial will be Saturday, December 14 11:00 a.m. at Zoe Life Christian Ministries, 2117 McKinley, Gary, IN.
