Donald Deerwester Obituary

DONALD A. DEERWESTER Thayer, Indiana Age 80 years, of Thayer, IN, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 He is survived by his wife, Mary; six children, Don Deerwester Jr. of Chicago, Dana Deerwester of DeMotte, Janis (Eric) Boise of Demotte, Sundy (Richard) Meservey of Cary, IL, Sharyl (Philip) Harper of Merrillville, and Donald (Toni) Deerwester III of Lake Village; 8 grandchildren; 1 brother, Charles (Lori) Deerwester of Country Club Hills, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Irene Deerwester; brothers, Harry, Toby and Allyn; sister, Elaine Thorne; and special nephew, Michael Deerwester. Visitation will be held Friday, February 8, from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at the Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN. Private funeral services will follow. Donald was a retired salesman with CLIP-R-TI Corp. in Blue Island, IL. He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Miami where he played football, playing in the Orange Bowl. Donald continued his football career with the Chicago Cardinals and Cleveland Browns. In his retirement his passion for his grandkids and fishing kept him busy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
