Obituary Condolences

Schulze, Tamara Louise Age 73, of Portage, passed away on June 25th, 2014. She was born July 25th, 1940 in Gary, IN to Joseph John and Katherine Louise (Speidel) Sistanich. She is survived by her four children, Michael T. (Kim) Schulze of Chesterton, Sue (John) Amptmeyer of Highland, Tammy (David) Clark of Portage, and David (Nancy) Schulze of Michigan City; siblings, Terry (Carol) Sistanich of Hobart, Dee (Stan) Bennette of Scottsville, MI, and Marguerite (Greg) Gilliam of Valparaiso; 11 grandchildren, Ashley (Dean Waters) Schulze, Theodore (Miranda) Schulze, Michael (Chrissy) Kmetz, Robert (Michelle) Kmetz, Sara (Scott Stewart) Kmetz, James Kmetz, Kenneth (Candace) Clark, Kevin (Tracy) Clark, Stephen Clark, Travis Pagels, and Brandon Pagels; 7 great-grandchildren, Andru, Anna, Ona Jean, Steven, Kendra Nicole, Eli James, and Solomon James. Tamara was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ernest "Shorty" Schulze. She was a lifelong area resident, a graduate of Portage High School and had worked for 25 years in sales for Duneland Carpet Connection. Tamara was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church Ladies Guild and The Bunco Club. She enjoyed making her home where she raised four children. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 30th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 6540 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Robert Hauter officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 29th, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or to VNA Hospice, 2401 Valley Dr., Valparaiso, IN 46383. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.ee-fh.com.
