Thompson, Franklin Gray Age 84, of Cedar Lake, IN, formerly of Crown Point, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at his home. Franklin is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Ditzel) Thompson; 2 sons, Don, Tom (Linda); 2 daughters, Patti (Jay) Olson and Debbie Partin; 3 stepsons, Michael (Marlyss) Hofherr, Tony (Laurie) Hofherr and Patrick (Julie) Hofherr; 1 stepdaughter, Mary Jo (Doug) Spearson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Rene' Thompson. He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary Huggins; and son, Franklin Jr. Franklin was born in Canton, Ohio and moved to Lady Lake, FL from Crown Point, IN in 1985. He was a retired Pipeliner with Buckeye Pipeline in Griffith, IN, a member/past president of Ohio Club of The Villages in Florida and was an avid bowler and golfer. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave./South St., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 4:00 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point, IN with Pastor Tom Shanahan officiating. Interment will take place at Maplewood Memorial Cemetery in Crown Point, IN. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of the Calumet area.
