I connected with Maryann through email due to a condolence she shared on one of my relatives obituary. She and my mother were friends when they were young in Hobart, IN. She and I communicated for several years and shared many a laugh. I just loved her sense of humor and would have loved to meet her in person. She was in Florida and I'm in Texas. She let me know after her son retired from the military and they decided to live together that things were getting a little tougher for her. I hadn't heard from her in a while and feared the worse. It wasn't until today that I had the courage to find out that, yes, she is gone from this life on earth. She was a joy to me and I'm sure she was to her family and friends. I know she was loved and will be missed greatly. She was one of a kind and I hope you all cherish the memories of her with love and that you've found the peace should would wish for you. I am attaching a picture of my mother from the time she and Maryann knew each other. My mother was Norma Dixon. We lost her at just 66 years old in 2000.
