Leroy Krier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 17, 2013.

Leroy "Roy" Clarence Krier, 80, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, after a brief battle with cancer.

He is survived by his brother, Gerald (Jerry) Nichols; loving wife, Audrey Krier; son, Troy Krier; daughters, Teresa Shaw, Tammy Krier, Trudy Rankin; grandsons, Marcus Krier, Eric Will; granddaughter, Lynnette Volden; and great-granddaughter, Adali Krier.

Those who preceded him in death include his father, Clarence Krier; mother, Ruth Nichols (Krier); stepfather, Carl Nichols; and sister, Joyce Fuchs.

Roy was born on Nov. 14, 1932, to Ruth and Clarence Krier. A few years later, sister Joyce was born. When Roy and Joyce were quite young, Ruth remarried Carl Nichols, and had Roy's younger brother Jerry. Roy married Audrey (Audrey Joyce Torgerson) on July 17, 1957. They had four children.

At age 17, Roy joined the Air Force and served 23 years. After retiring from active duty, he held jobs in auto repair and maintenance. In later years, he worked for the city of Pine Island. Some of his favorite pastimes included cars, fishing, WWE wrestling, biking, old-time movies (especially westerns), car restoration and bicycle repair.

An informal memorial gathering will be held for Leroy "Roy" C. Krier from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the American Legion in Pine Island. Everyone is welcome.
