Frieda Alice Kamrowski, 85, of Fountain City, Wis., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, in Tomball, Texas, after a long battle with cancer. Her loving daughters, Patricia and Marilyn, and her son-in-law were at her side.

Frieda was born April 6, 1928, in Lemington, Wis., to Henry and Lydia (Blass) Engelbrecht. She married the love of her life, Paul Kamrowski, in 1946 and to this marriage was blessed with six children. Paul and Frieda settled in as farmers on the home farm in Fountain City. She worked at home, raising their children and milking cows. Paul passed away in 1985.
Frieda loved to travel and visit her children and 11 grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and that occasional visit to the casino. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fountain City, the National Catholic Society of Foresters and a life member of the Cochrane-Buffalo City VFW Auxiliary Post 10406. She will be deeply missed by all.
Frieda is survived by six children, Christopher (Barbara) Kamrowski, Alma, Wis., Charlotte (Thomas) Ross, Fountain City, Wis., Patricia (John) Starkey, The Woodlands, Texas, Marilyn Sousa, Pearland, Texas, Paul (Susan) Kamrowski, Aurora, Mo., and Leon (Lucy) Kamrowski, Holmen, Wis. Also 11 grandchildren, Ronald Ross, Larry (Heidi Vos) Ross, Michael Starkey, Patrick Starkey, Aaron Sousa, Savannah (Kenny) Kamrowski, Shawn Kamrowski, Emily (Eric) Hanes, Ryan (Tisha) Kamrowski, Kevin (Erika Gaustad) Kamrowski and Andrew Kamrowski; one great-granddaughter, Audrey Hanes; three sisters, Margaret Holmes, Exeland, Wis., Leona Olson, Birchwood, Wis., Mary (Don) Berman, Eau Claire, Wis.; one brother, Ervin Engelbrecht, Birchwood, Wis.; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe (Shirley) Kamrowski, of Winona, and Beatrice Engelbrecht, Roseberg, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; and brothers, Robert, Adolph, Rudy and Clarence.
Mass of Christian burial for Frieda will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fountain City, Wis., with the Rev. Brian Jazdzewski officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fountain City.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home in Winona and at the church on Monday beginning at 10 a.m.
Casket bearers will be Frieda's grandchildren.
