Judith L. Pinter, 68, of Tomahawk and Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk under the care of Ministry Hospice. 

Judith was born Aug. 6, 1947, in Colby, Wis., to the late Alphonse and Katherine (Heppner) Schraufnagel. Judy was married to Robert Pinter on Oct. 28, 1972; he survives.  

Judith grew up in Colby and was a 1965 graduate of Colby High School. She later attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in 1969. Judith was head of the Blood Bank at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital. 

Bob and Judy moved to Rochester in 1985 where she was employed at Mayo Clinic in the Special Coagulation Lab and later in the Hematology Department. She retired in 2012. Upon retirement, Judy and Bob moved to Sierra Vista, Ariz., during the winters and spent their summers in the Tomahawk area on Lake Nokomis. Judy enjoyed reading, gardening and flowers. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her husband, Bob Pinter, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two sons, Christopher Pinter, of Mankato and Mike Pinter, of Minneapolis, a daughter, Amy (Dan) Sturtevant, of Silverthorne, Colo.; a brother, Jim Schraufnagel, of Colby, Wis. and three sisters, Susan (James) Steele, of Bethesda, Md., Kathy (John), Wilke, of Phillips, Wis. and Lori (Tony) Rand, of LaCrosse, Wis.

She is further survived by two grandchildren, Hudson Sturtevant and Marin Sturtevant. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A Celebration of Life for Judy Pinter will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at noon at Generations Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon.
