Theodore L. Pervin, Sr., 72, of La Crosse, Wis., died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.

He was born May 17, 1941, in Rochester, to John and Pearl (Nelson) Pervin. He married Kathleen Opdahl on Dec. 2, 1978, in Onalaska, Wis. Theodore had worked as a special service technician at Centurytel for 17 years.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling, reading and going to the casino. He loved his cats, was always willing to help people, and was always trying to increase his knowledge.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; six children, Susan (Thomas) Lynch, Dawn (William) Grass, John (Kristen Glenna) Pervin III, Theodore (Suzanne) Pervin, Jr., Jennifer (Daniel Roop) Pervin, and Ryan Pervin; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Susan (Jerry) Fabian; a brother, Robert (Terri) Pervin; his father and mother-in-law, Edward and Carol Opdahl; a sister-in-law, Linda Hackbart; and a brother-in-law, Steven Opdahl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and a sister, Sharon Higgins.
A celebration of life for Theodore will be held at a later date.
