Tyler Thomas Mundy, 44, of Kasson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at his home.

Tyler was born May 20, 1973, in Rochester to Larry Mundy and Linda (Thompson) Mundy. He was a 1991 graduate of Hayfield High School and went on to attend Winona State University and Riverland. Tyler worked as a machinist at PALS in Owatonna for 18 years before starting his own machine shop, Heavy Metal LLC in Blooming Prairie.

On Feb. 8, 2008, he married Heather Dunn in Lake Geneva, Wis. Tyler and Heather loved taking small trips on their motorcycles together. Tyler had a passion for music, beginning with a vocal scholarship at Winona State and carrying on to various bands throughout the years, such as Finderz Keeperz, G-Monkeys and Sunday mornings as part of the worship team at church. Vacationing in Florida and game night with his family were an important part of his life. He was a generous, fun-loving, kind, devoted and selfless man with a strong faith in Christ.

Tyler is survived by his wife, Heather; children, Katelyn, Breanna and Caleb, all of Kasson; mother, Linda (Dale) Ulve, of Kasson; father, Larry (Carol) Mundy, of Dodge Center; sister, Tiffani (Jason) Dover; nephews, Mack and Creeden, of Rochester; stepbrother, Jeff Ulve, of Kasson; maternal grandmother, Marlyss Thompson, of Hayfield; and a host of other family and friends. Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Sam Thompson; paternal grandparents, Carol and Albert Mundy; and by his uncle, Bruce Mundy.

Tyler was incredibly kind and generous. To honor his memory and character, in lieu of donations to us, please use that gift to be a blessing to someone else. The next time you're in a drive-through, restaurant, gas station, or anywhere, bless someone else and pay it forward in Tyler's memory.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Community Celebration Church, 27337 County Highway 34, Kasson. Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 501 Second St. NW, Hayfield, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Pastor Steve Larson will be officiating, and a private family interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Hayfield.
