Donna Jane (Snyder) Marckel, 76, of Maplewood, passed into eternal life with her Lord Jesus on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at home surrounded by the love of her family and with the support of hospice care.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of more than 52 years, Amos; children, Carol (Clifford) Holderness, Daniel (Julie), Angela (Dan Hunter) and Matthew (Kristi); dear grandchildren, Otto and Max Marckel, George and Anna Holderness and Joshua, Ben and Jacob Marckel; she also is survived by her sister, Mae Ellen Schneider; and brother, Tom Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Marie (Deppert) Snyder; and siblings, Vernon Wayne (infant), Carol Ann (infant), Maxine Taylor and Lois Hageman.
Donna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and Amos lived and raised their family in Rochester and Austin, Texas, moving finally to Maplewood, to be near family. They both enjoyed traveling with friends and worship at South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas and Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Johnson Peterson Funeral Home, 2130 Second St., White Bear Lake.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church, 2480 S. Shore Blvd, White Bear Lake. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery of Mahtomedi.
