Calvin Albert Neumann, 89, of Rochester, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth.

Born Feb. 5, 1925, in Viola Township of Rochester, to Oscar and Eva (Loos) Neumann. He graduated high school and served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Marian Chalmers in 1956 and she preceded him in death in 1979. Calvin was a farmer most of his life, moving off the farm in 1970 and he then went to work in the stock room for Mayo Clinic working there until his retirement in 1987.
He was a member of the American Legion and had lived the past three years at Arbor Terrace until moving into the care center recently.
Calvin is survived by his son, Joseph Neumann (Sandy) of Cottage Grove; and a daughter, Christine Krupenny of Minneapolis; two granddaughters, Ashley Schindeldecker (Dan) and Erin; and a great-granddaughter, Makayla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and three sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
