Clarence "Lucky" L. Bjugan, 90, of Pine Island, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Pine Haven Care Center.

Clarence was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Zumbrota, to Carl and Lillian (Rolland) Bjugan. He was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and also created and was the president of the Musicians Union. Clarence was the founder of Cousin Lucky and the Jolly Jokers band for more than 40 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing music, horseshoes, coaching baseball and being a Cub Scout leader. Clarence loved being around people but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Carol; children, Debra (Terry) Throndson, of Rochester, Brett (Teresa Odell) Bjugan, of Pine Island; grandchildren, Bailey Bjugan, Dawsin Bjugan, Trent Bjugan and Tiahna Flemming; and by his sister, Carol Severson, of Stewartville.

Clarence was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Bjugan and by his parents, Carl and Lillian.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 21, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place N.W., Rochester.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
