Marilyn Ann Sandberg, 87, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Stewartville Care Center.

Marilyn was born July 14, 1927, in Rochester, to Earl and Inez (Benson) Brower. She was a 1948 graduate of Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing. On Feb. 4, 1951, Marilyn married Herbert Sandberg in Kasson. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Marys Hospital and Methodist Hospital for numerous years before becoming an industrial nurse at Pace Dairy. Marilyn retired from her nursing career in 1984. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, flowers and traveling. Above all, Marilyn loved making memories and being with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert; children, Carl Sandberg, of Burnsville, Cheryl (Ronald) Wadley, of Oronoco, and Craig Sandberg, of Apple Valley; sister, Delores (Bob) Garnham, of Rochester, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Inez; brother, William; and by her daughter-in-law, Mary.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Pastor Dan Farm will be officiating with interment at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.
