James Wade Wingo, 71, was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Red Bay, Ala., to Robert James Wingo and Lura Irene Wingo. Jim moved with his family to Zion, Ill., when he was six years old and attended school there, graduating from Zion Benton High School. He married Dena Christine Crump in 1965 in Crown Point, Ind. James was a printer and learned the old craftsman way of printing by hand setting type and running a linotype. He loved printing and took classes in high school. Jim was a marine and trained at Paris Island. In 1966, he moved the family to Nekoosa, Wis., and bought a small printing business. He worked through many phases and technical updates of printing. His three sons came into the business and the years grew, bringing him into the computerized printing era. He was a successful businessman and obtained many national accounts. Jim made a lot of friends in his years of business and always had time to help with their problems or just to chat a while.

A number of years ago, he sold the printing business and moved to Rochester and started another adventure at Mayo Clinic. He was very proud to be a part of Mayo Clinic and valued and honored his job. He learned so much and was very happy there. He just received a certificate for excellent work.

Jim was a little league coach for nine years in Nekoosa, he enjoyed teaching children the sport of baseball. He served as vice president on the Southern Woods Townhome Association. Jim was a wonderful, loving, caring husband, father and grandfather, he loved baseball (Cubs)  fishing, going to the casino, movies and spending time with his grandchildren was on top of his list.
