Carol Marie Hadoff, 52, of Chatfield, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 1 p.m. at the Chatfield Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Docken officiating.
    
Carol Vitse was born July 7, 1961, in Lanesboro, the daughter of Warren and Alice (Crowson) Vitse. She graduated from Preston-Fountain High School in 1979. In 1983, she graduated from the Winona Vocational School of Cosmetology. She worked at Shear Class Hair Design in Chatfield until she became ill. On March 11, 1989, she married Todd Hadoff at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston; they celebrated 25 years of marriage this year.

Carol was an active member of Chatfield Lutheran Church since 1991. She taught Sunday school, supported TMT, was a member of Esther Circle, she also enjoyed making lefse and Norwegian baking. She volunteered at Ronald McDonald House, Dorothy Day House and . Carol was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxilary. Her hobbies included spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping and boating.

Carol is survived by her husband, Todd; two children, Kale and Madison of Chatfield; her mother, Alice Cummings and Warren Cummings of Preston; one brother, Dean Vitse of Moose Lake; four sisters, Jean (Greg) Easler and Gail (Mike) Schmidt, both of Chatfield, Jayne (Jeff) Madison of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Julie (David) Stolp of Oronoco; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren.

Carol wanted to thank Dr. Henry Pitot, Jessica Mitchell and the staff at Gonda 10 for all their efforts and kindness.
     
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Chatfield Lutheran Church.
