Heimerl, Lorin M.
Lorin M. Heimerl, age 83, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, at his home. Lorin was born in Medford, WI on October 30, 1929 to the late George and Myrtle (Simerson) Heimerl. After High School in Medford, he attended and graduated from U.W. Madison. Following college, Lorin proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he worked as a hardware salesman in Western Nebraska where he met his wife, Venee' Kramer. They were united in marriage in McCook, Nebraska in 1954.They returned to Medford where he co-owned the family Hardware/Variety store. He began his career in insurance sales with Wausau Insurance and eventually settled in Appleton with his family in 1971, retiring in 1990. Lorin enjoyed spending time with his family at their cottage on Lake Esadore in Medford. He was a longtime member of the Appleton Curling Club, Fox Valley Golf Club, and an active member at St. Thomas More Catholic Church for many years where he served on the board and also as an usher.
Lorin is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Venee'; seven children: Michael (Maureen), Buffalo, NY, Michele (John) Ciske, Appleton, Stephen (Connie), Appleton, Gregory (Katie), Appleton, Kevin (Ann), Appleton, Christopher (Dana), Littleton, CO, Eric, Appleton; grandchildren: Marya (Andrew) Wlos, Elizabeth (Brendan) Kelly, Mackenzie Ciske, Johanna (Stan) Ciske, Dustin (Amanda), Nathaniel, Brittney, Joseph, Elizabeth, Daniel, Jack, Katie Grace, Brooklyn, and Lanie; great grandchildren: Caeden, Cullen, and Calvin; brother, William, Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George & Myrtle, daughter Denise, sister Barbara (Robert) Partridge, in-laws Joseph (Lucille) Kramer and sister-in-law Marianne.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Friday, December 7, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St. with Father Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may visit directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Medford. Flowers gratefully declined.

Dear Venee - (Mike, Michele, Steve, Greg, Kevin, Chris, Eric)
Lorin was one of the all time good guys..He was a man's man, a good friend of mine. It was fun to be in his presence with that smile, that sense of humor. He will be missed but always in my prayers. My deepest sympathy to all of you. I am sorry I cannot attend the funeral service.
