Rose Marie Frances Kuhn
Rose M. Kuhn, 87, of Little Chute, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 12, 2013. She was born on June 6, 1925, daughter of the late Harry and Hattie (Sanderfoot) Vander Wyst. Rose was united in marriage to Henry Kuhn, and he preceded her in death. Rosie was a crossing guard for 37 years, taking charge of the busiest corner in Little Chute, Main and Madison, affectionately called "Rosie's Corner." Her dedication to her job was truly unmatchable. Rosie was a Girl Scout leader for Troop 115 for several years. She always had a soft spot in her heart for the veterans at King, and started the homeless donations to the veterans. Rosie was President of the 9th District 1974-1976; President of Unit #258 Auxiliary 1977-1979; Outagamie County President 1985-1987; and was again President of Unit # 258 1985-2003. She was a life member of the Auxiliary Unit. Rosie had many titles: Madam President, 24 years; Chief Crossing Guard, 37 years; a tireless worker, all her life.
Rosie is lovingly survived by her children: Margie (Jim) Cotter, Marilyn (Roy) Kuhtz, Kathy (John) Janssen, Dorie Kuhn, Patty (Dennis) Sonkowsky, Debbie (Nick) Kiesow and Steve Kuhn; son-in-law, Dave Kohl; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; sister and brother: Virg (Ivan) Stiltjes and Gordy (Emily) Vander Wyst; sister-in-law, Romilda Kuhn; and many other nieces, nephews, godchildren and other family members and friends.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a daughter, Mary; her parents; sisters Ruth (Paul) Waldron and Jean (Ted) Feldkamp.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will take place on Friday at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the Mass. A memorial has been established.
The Kuhn family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Affinity Hospice, especially Phil, Gina, Alice and Krissy, for your wonderful care and compassion.

Doris & Extended family,
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I know your mom had worked so hard in the community and for the American Legion. Her legacy will live on with you and your families. You all have been so kind in your support with the lost of our mother a few weeks back. We know she has earned her reward in heaven and has had a large welcoming party there to greet here. The neighborhood has taken on a new look but the memories live on. It was really nice to talk with you this past March. Please give all our best to the rest of your family. Rosie is an icon for the Little Chute Community and will be missed.
God's Speed.

Rosie was always there for us....helping us cross the street numerous times each day...with a smile on her face and always singing a happy tune! It was evident that she loved her job tremendously!
Dori, you were the ultimate care giver for your mother. Not many people could do what you have done over the past several years. You are definitely an angel and I'm sure your mom is smiling down on you! Now, it's time for Dori!

Our sympathy to Rose's family,
Your Mother was one of a kind. She was always so friendly and willing to help. I remember calling her years ago to make cookies for our Brownie troop. She never refused and the cookies were oh so good. She certainly had a heart of gold. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you especially during this difficult time. May the Lord Jesus watch over all of you.

Rest in peace Rosie. As kids you don't realize what an angel Rosie was crossing us daily. And that huge bag of candy we could help ourselves to on the last day of school. Sympathies to the family.
