Jeffrey Keeley Obituary

Keeley, Jeffrey

Jeffrey C. Keeley, 44, of Yorkville, IL, passed away on Jan. 28, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family, following a courageous five month battle with an inoperable brain tumor. Jeff was born on Aug. 31, 1968, in Neenah, WI, the son of Donald Sr. and Kathleen (Hermes) Keeley.

Growing up, Jeff had the opportunity to live in many locations throughout the country. Jeff's favorite childhood times were those spent in Kaukauna, WI. He was involved in many activities and created many lifelong friends during his formative years. Jeff and his family were particularly touched by the outpouring of support from childhood friends during his illness.

Jeff was united in marriage on July 27, 2007 in Trego, WI, to April Bagnall and they, with April's sons Christopher and Brandon, spent the next five years together. Jeff and April enjoyed camping, boating and supporting the boys' sporting events.

Jeff had a particular fondness for time spent with family. He especially enjoyed time with his parents and siblings playing cards, fishing up north, playing yard games, showing off his vegetable garden and paying visits to the casinos. Jeff enjoyed hitting the road in his Corvette and his motorcycle, both of which he took great pride in.

Jeff worked for 25 years as an Import Planner for Molex in Lisle, IL. In his spare time he was a handyman and always had a home improvement or woodworking project underway. Many family members and friends were beneficiaries of custom bean bag toss sets Jeff would make as gifts. Jeff was also an avid animal lover, owning four cats and two dogs.

Jeff is survived by his wife, April Keeley of Yorkville; his stepchildren, Christopher and Brandon Kirstein of Yorkville; his mother, Kathleen Keeley of Appleton, WI; his sister, Cindy (John) Whitehurst of Burnsville, MN; his brothers, Don (Traci) Keeley Jr. of Appleton, WI; Steve (Cathy) Keeley of Kaukauna, WI; Ken (Jenny) Keeley of Cottage Grove, WI; his uncle Dean and aunt Jan Keeley of Plainfield, IL, whom he had a special relationship; his brother-in-law, Tim Bagnall of Warrenville, IL; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Donald Keeley Sr.

Jeff will be deeply missed by his family and friends but we are fortunate for the many fond memories Jeff has left with us.

The family held private services. Donation of a memorial bench in memory of Jeff will be made to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL.
